A recipe for making a layered cold brew coffee drink topped with a homemade strawberry sweet cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cold brew coffee concentrate
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tablespoons strawberry puree (from fresh or frozen strawberries)
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberry puree: Blend fresh or thawed strawberries until smooth. Strain if you prefer a seedless topping.
  2. Make the strawberry cream: In a medium bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, milk, strawberry puree, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
  3. Whip the cream mixture: Use an electric mixer or a whisk to beat the mixture until soft peaks form. Do not over-whip; the cream should be thick but still pourable.
  4. Assemble the drink: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
  5. Pour the cold brew concentrate over the ice, leaving about one inch of space at the top.
  6. Gently spoon or pour the strawberry cream mixture over the top of the cold brew. Allow it to slowly cascade down the sides.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a stronger coffee flavor, use less milk in the cream mixture.
  • If you do not have cold brew concentrate, use 1 cup of strong brewed coffee and add 1 teaspoon of simple syrup.
  • To make this dairy-free, substitute the heavy cream with full-fat canned coconut cream and use your preferred non-dairy milk.
