Make a smooth, creamy, copycat Vanilla Bean Frappuccino at home using simple ingredients. This recipe works with or without coffee.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional, for extra richness)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste (or 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract)
  • 1/4 teaspoon xanthan gum (for thickness, optional but recommended)
  • 1/4 cup vanilla syrup base (see notes for making base)
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients near the blender.
  2. Place the ice, milk, heavy cream (if using), sugar, vanilla bean paste, xanthan gum, and vanilla syrup base into a high-speed blender.
  3. Secure the lid tightly.
  4. Start blending on a low speed, then quickly increase to the highest speed. Blend continuously until the mixture is completely smooth and has a uniform, thick consistency, scraping down the sides if needed. This usually takes 30 to 60 seconds.
  5. Pour the blended mixture into a tall glass.
  6. Top with whipped cream and an extra sprinkle of vanilla bean powder or a drizzle of syrup, if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • To make a simple vanilla syrup base: Heat 1/4 cup water and 1/4 cup sugar until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Let it cool completely before using.
  • For a coffee version, add 1/4 cup of chilled, strong brewed coffee or cold brew concentrate to the blender mixture.
  • If you do not have xanthan gum, you can substitute it with 1 tablespoon of cream cheese or 1/2 cup of vanilla ice cream to help achieve thickness.
  • Adjust sugar to your taste preference.
