Crispy Baked Avocado Fries are a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional fries. They are coated in a savory breading and baked until golden brown and crispy, making them a perfect appetizer or side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe avocados, firm but yielding to gentle pressure
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits. Cut each half into wedges, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. In a shallow dish, combine the panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dip each avocado wedge into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  5. Press the egg-coated avocado wedges into the breadcrumb mixture, coating all sides.
  6. Place the breaded avocado wedges on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  7. Drizzle or brush the avocado wedges with olive oil.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Flip them halfway through baking for even crispiness.
  9. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Choose avocados that are ripe but not overly soft to ensure they hold their shape during baking.
  • For extra crispiness, you can toast the panko breadcrumbs lightly before coating the avocado.
  • Experiment with different seasonings in the breadcrumb mixture, such as onion powder or chili powder.
