Ingredients
Scale
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
4 ounces smoked salmon, finely chopped
2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
1 small shallot, minced
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Pinch of salt (taste first, as salmon is salty)
Instructions
Place the softened cream cheese, chopped smoked salmon, dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, sour cream, minced shallot, pepper, and salt into a food processor.
Process the mixture until it is completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides as needed.
Taste the dip and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more lemon juice or pepper if desired.
Transfer the dip to a serving bowl.
Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to combine.
Notes
For a make-ahead option, prepare the dip up to 2 days in advance. Store it covered in the refrigerator.
Serve this dip cold with bagel chips, cucumber slices, pita bread, or vegetable sticks.
If you do not have a food processor, you can finely chop the salmon and mix all ingredients thoroughly by hand with a sturdy spoon until smooth.
