- 1 (13.2 ounce) tube refrigerated jumbo cinnamon rolls
- 1 (21 ounce) can apple pie filling
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 package cinnamon roll icing
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Open the can of cinnamon rolls. Separate the rolls but do not remove them from the icing packets. Cut each roll into four equal pieces.
- In a medium bowl, mix the apple pie filling, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and water. Stir until combined.
- Spread the cut cinnamon roll pieces evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Pour the apple pie filling mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the dish from the oven. Immediately spread the reserved cinnamon roll icing packets over the hot casserole.
- Let the casserole cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can use store-bought pie crust instead of cinnamon rolls for a more traditional pie base if you prefer.
- For extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of nutmeg over the apple mixture before baking.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
