Ingredients
Scale
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
8 ounces white chocolate chips
1 cup fresh strawberries, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)
Instructions
Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, letting the paper overhang on two sides for easy removal.
Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Place them in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until smooth. Stir in coconut oil if using.
Pour the melted semi-sweet chocolate into the prepared pan. Spread it into an even layer using an offset spatula. Place the pan in the freezer for 10 minutes to set slightly.
While the base sets, prepare the strawberries. Pat the sliced strawberries very dry with paper towels. Excess moisture will cause the white chocolate to seize.
Melt the white chocolate chips using the same microwave method as the semi-sweet chocolate.
Remove the pan from the freezer. Pour the melted white chocolate over the semi-sweet layer. Spread gently to cover.
Arrange the dried strawberry slices evenly over the white chocolate layer. Press them down slightly so they adhere.
Return the pan to the freezer and chill for at least 1 hour, or until the bark is completely firm.
Lift the bark out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Break the bark into irregular pieces.
Store the pieces in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor in this simple recipe.
If you prefer a thinner bark, use a larger pan, like a 9×13 inch pan.
For a decorative finish, sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt over the strawberries before chilling.
Keep the bark refrigerated, especially if your kitchen is warm, as the fresh strawberries can soften the chocolate.
