This is a simple, satisfying casserole combining ground beef, egg noodles, and cheese for a quick weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups cooked egg noodles
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 2-quart baking dish.
  2. Brown the ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
  3. Stir the condensed soup, milk, salt, and pepper into the skillet with the beef mixture. Cook until heated through.
  4. Fold in the cooked egg noodles and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix gently to combine.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top.
  7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and lightly browned.

Notes

  • You can substitute cream of celery soup for cream of mushroom soup if you prefer.
  • Use elbow macaroni instead of egg noodles if you do not have them available.
  • For a richer flavor, use sharp cheddar cheese.
