Make flavorful pork chops coated in cheddar cheese and ranch seasoning using a simple baking method.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, and pepper. Dredge each pork chop in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork chops for 2 minutes per side until lightly browned.
  4. Remove the skillet from the heat. Sprinkle the dry ranch seasoning mix evenly over the tops of the pork chops.
  5. Top each chop with the grated cheddar cheese.
  6. Pour the milk into the bottom of the baking dish or skillet around the chops.
  7. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  8. Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute boneless pork chops, but adjust the cooking time slightly.
  • Use freshly grated cheddar cheese for better melting.
  • If you prefer a crispier topping, place the chops under the broiler for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
