Ingredients
Scale
2 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (for finishing)
Instructions
Pat the salmon fillets completely dry using paper towels. This step is key for achieving a crispy exterior.
In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic, melted butter, olive oil, salt, pepper, and paprika to create the garlic butter mixture.
Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overlap them.
Brush the top surface of each salmon fillet generously with the garlic butter mixture.
Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Cook the salmon for 10 to 12 minutes. Cooking time depends on the thickness of your fillets. For thinner fillets, check at 10 minutes. For thicker fillets, you may need 13-14 minutes. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
Carefully remove the salmon from the air fryer. Drizzle with fresh lemon juice before serving immediately.
Notes
For extra crispy skin, place the salmon skin-side down in the air fryer basket and cook for the entire time.
If you prefer a sweeter flavor, add 1 teaspoon of honey to the garlic butter mixture for a honey garlic air fryer salmon variation.
This recipe works well for low carb and healthy salmon air fryer meals.
