Cook frozen shrimp directly in your air fryer without thawing. This method yields tender, plump shrimp quickly, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound frozen raw shrimp, peeled and deveined (do not thaw)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Place the frozen shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
  2. Drizzle the olive oil over the shrimp. Sprinkle evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Toss gently to coat.
  3. Set the air fryer temperature to 390°F (200°C).
  4. Cook for 8 to 12 minutes, depending on shrimp size. Shake the basket halfway through cooking (around the 5-minute mark).
  5. Check for doneness: shrimp should be pink, opaque, and curled into a C-shape. Small shrimp take about 8 minutes; large shrimp take about 12 minutes.
  6. Remove immediately and serve.

Notes

  • For a garlic butter flavor, toss the cooked shrimp with 1 tablespoon of melted butter and 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic after cooking.
  • Use this shrimp for tacos, salads, or serve as an appetizer with cocktail sauce.
  • If your shrimp are very large (jumbo size), you may need an extra 1-2 minutes of cook time.
